Tom & Brittany’s Charleston Wedding

Charleston is one of the most beautiful locations for a wedding on the East Coast! The salty, warm breeze, the varied colors of greenery from deep emerald to muted sage, the sandy pathways winding beneath massive southern oak trees all contribute to setting the perfect stage for a wedding.

When we first met Tom & Brittany we were surprised by Tom’s beautiful New Zealand accent. It’s not every day that we get to work with a groom from another country! Tom and Brittany’s wedding was unique because in it, two families from opposite sides of the globe came together to celebrate the joining of two beautiful people. Tom is from New Zealand and Britany is from Georgia and now both of these unique cultures are blended into one family! 

Tom & Brittany’s wedding happened over Memorial Day weekend and we just so happened to shoot another wedding the day before with many of the same vendors! (Check out that wedding film here.) It was fun feeling like we accomplished the weekend with a whole team! The weather forecast stayed in the mid-90s and Meredith was trooper as she was 8 months pregnant at the time. Needless to say, we were staying well hydrated. Despite the heat, everyone had such a great go-with-the-flow attitude!

One of the unique parts of the day was when Tom & Brittany took a few of their bride and groom portraits in the midst of a flock of grazing sheep as the golden sun set low behind them. It was a truly special moment that not many couples can say they have had on their wedding day!

Tom & Brittany, thank you for choosing us to capture your magnificent day! It’s one we will always remember and hold as a fond memory, not just because of the gorgeous venue, but because of the joy that you two carried with you throughout the whole day. It was an honor for us to witness your love for one another and for your friends and family!
