Cliffs At Valley Wedding in Greenville, SC | Justin & Taylor

Our story with Justin and Taylor started early 2017 at a coffee shop downtown Greenville. We wanted to go to the amazing and cozy Methodical Coffee, but it was closed. Then, we chose “Spill The Beans” right on falls park, but it was closed as well! At that point, we had to settle for good old fashioned Starbucks and though it wasn’t the shop we hoped for, it accomplished what we needed and we had a great chat! 🙂

The Rehearsal Dinner

Wedding weekend started on Friday night at Twigs Tempietto, a beautiful little venue tucked away across the street from Haywood mall in Greenville. I love it when we get to film the rehearsal dinner for a wedding, because there is always amazing toast audio to capture! Justin and Taylor’s rehearsal dinner was such a good example of this! Friends and Family regaled us with stories about how they met, fell in love and compliment each other so well. Justin’s brother told us about the time Justin came home after having first met Taylor. “He had this huge grin on his face, like he had just won the lotto. Turned out he did!”

Getting Ready

The next day started out with Taylor getting ready at her parent’s house and Justin at his brother’s place near downtown Greenville. I feel like I’ve said this before, but it’s always so laid back when Bride and Groom preps happen at places that are familiar to them. Preps at home help you to just let go and relax! And that’s what they did! We then headed to Rock Quarry park; which is a beautiful little green space down in a little valley in a residential part of Downtown Greenville. When you’re down in the park you feel almost like you are in a different world, separated from the city. You could drive right past it and not see it! The first look was really  sweet opportunity for Justin and Taylor to talk and shake off the nerves before heading over to the Church for the Ceremony.

The Ceremony

Christ Church nestles itself right in the busyness of downtown Greenville! Because of construction in the main sanctuary, the ceremony took place at the Markley Chapel. The Chapel is a beautiful historic building adorned with stained glass windows and historic pews. The symbolism of these traditional Church settings creates a environment that emphasizes the deep spiritual meaning of what a marriage is supposed communicate. It was amazing to be there to witness Justin and Taylor vow to love each other through thick and thin!

The Reception

After the ceremony, we quickly packed up our gear and made the 30 minute drive up into the mountains for the reception at Cliffs at Valley. I loved the juxtaposition of the busy streets of Greenville and the quiet beauty of the mountains. The bus carrying all of the guests from the Church to the reception got lost on the way up, so we had a few extra minutes to film scenic detail shots of the venue 🙂 When the guests finally arrived, the 919 band rocked the house and the party was off to the races! In the middle of the reception, Justin and Taylor played the Clemson fight song to celebrate last years national championship win for the football team. I loved that Taylor and Justin made the wedding their own and planned those little things into the night. It’s the little things that matter the most! Justin and Taylor, thanks so much for trusting us to tell your story! I’m so excited for you guys and the blessing I know your marriage will be.
