If you’re planning a low-country, southern wedding near Charleston, SC, Magnolia Plantation is a must have on your list of venues to consider!
The experience starts when you first pull into the long driveway of Magnolia Plantation. The road runs parallel to the Audubon Swamp Garden and is flanked by large Southern Oak trees strung with Spanish moss. We drove through just as the sun was setting and casting light through the trees to highlight the gardens.
The Carriage House
There are three main areas on the property where couples can choose to get married. About half a mile down the driveway you’ll find the Carriage House tucked in the back corner of the property. This is the first and most popular location where couples tie the knot!
The Carriage House is situated in front of a meadow and adjacent to Ashley River. You can choose to get married under the oldest oak tree on the property or along the banks of the Ashley River surrounded by live oak trees with hanging moss. There are also private walking trails close to the Carriage House that provide intimate and quiet places for video and pictures, or for guests to mill around during cocktail hour.
The Conservatory
The second place on the property where couples can get married is the Conservatory. This would be a great place to consider if you are getting married during some of the colder months of the year. The venue is completely indoors, but hardly feels like it with hundreds of surrounding plants, flowers and greenery!
The Veranda
The third location is the Manor House. Couples can have their ceremony on the lawn overlooking the iconic White Bridge followed by cocktail hour on the Veranda. The White Bridge is the perfect, private place for your bridal portraits or first look. Most receptions are held on the grand back lawn behind Manor House.
