The Hollow at Paris Mountain // Wedding Videography in Greenville SC

This week, I spent time filming over at The Hollow At Paris Mountain in Greenville, SC and absolutely loved it. I didn’t really know what to expect and when I pulled in, I was surprised by the beautiful quarter mile long driveway that passes through a meadow and then down into a wooded valley. I’ve always been a fan of beautiful drives and this certainly was one 😃

The view

After you drive for a couple of minutes, you emerge into a large open grassy area with a beautiful view of the venue and the owner’s home. The Hollow is a charming open air venue that has many options to fit the vision for your wedding. The owner, Patty, told me that they really try to give a lot of freedom to their couples to set up the venue as they see fit. If you are a DIY couple, this is definitely a venue that will do their best to accommodate your ideas.

The locations

You can get married on the patio with the waterfalls as a backdrop or you can use the doors and cross out in the field as your ceremony location. The reception space comes equipped with a built in sound system and a roll away A/C unit. This is such a perfect feature because it gets really hot during summer Greenville weddings!

The House

You also get access to the downstairs level of the house to use as a place to get ready or to escape the heat. This is crucial especially when the bride needs to hide away before the ceremony or before the first look! Often, brides will use one of the two bedrooms for a bride prep location.

The Interview

We asked the owner Patti a few questions about the venue and what it’s like to have your wedding at The Hollow!

  • How did the Hollow get started as a wedding venue? My Daughter was married here and we had 200 guests. After which lots of friends and family wanted to use our space for their wedding/events.
  • What is the best advice you can give to a bride? Don’t stress the little things.
  • How far in advance should a bride reserve their venue space? 6 months-1 year. If you are looking for fall seems to be booking at least a year out (Saturdays). We also do Sunday weddings booking at least 3-4 months out.
  • What is included when a client books your venue? We are a venue only rental. Saturday rentals includes access on Friday for set up, deliveries and rehearsal.
  • How do you help clients customize their service? We are not a cookie cutter venue. Its all about the brides vision for the space.
  • What’s one interesting fact about The Hollow? I would say like in #1. This is not something we planned. It has been kind of a snowball effect. I had been a stay at home mom for 16 years and once the youngest started to drive, I thought what will I do now.
  • What do you have planned for the future? We are planning on adding more unique features, such as additional waterfalls and also working on make the space more handicap accessible.
  • What do you love most about what you do? Getting to see everything come together and seeing the Love and Happiness!
