Hampton & Lakyn’s wedding was one for the books!

The Sweet Couple

Lakyn’s sister gave a toast at their rehearsal dinner that truly sums how special these two are. Trying to hold back tears she said,  “Hampton, nobody has to tell you how special my big sister or her smile is. And, Lakyn nobody has to tell you what a loving and selfless man you’re about to marry. Y’all have found your equal!”

No truer words could be spoken! If you know Lakyn, you know her smile and laugh. And if you know Hampton, you know what a kind and genuine person he is. These two were made for each other, and that was evident from the first time we met them 🙂

Hampton & Lakyn were married in a church in downtown Columbia and their reception was hosted on Lakyn’s grandfather’s property. Lakyn’s parents were actually married in that exact same spot! Whenever we hear that one of our couples is getting married on private property, we get so excited! Places that are near and dear to the hearts of the couple always make such an intimate setting for a wedding film. There’s a comfort and ease about being in a familiar place!

The Reception Venue

In front of the house stands a massive oak tree that has to be well over 100 years old! A month before the wedding, Hampton & Lakyn buried a bottle of bourbon under the tree in hopes that this old southern wedding tradition would keep the rain away from their wedding day. It worked! The evening could not have been more perfect. The sun peeked through the clouds at the end of the day to light up one of the largest Sperry tents we’ve ever seen!

The tent hosted all 300 of their guests, dinner and dancing. Also, because their wedding happened to fall on Cinco de Mayo, they had a taco truck serving margaritas and tacos. Meagan Warren, her team and Lakyn did such a beautiful job designing and coordinating the day. Every detail was thoughtfully planned out!
