A Columbia SC Wedding | Matt & Amanda

We love a change of pace every so often. Matt & Amanda’s city wedding in Columbia, SC didn’t disappoint! Matt & Amanda both attended the University of South Carolina which happens to be the same school Mer graduated from in 2013!

Their day started at the Metropolis Salon in downtown Columbia. The salon was buzzing with excitement as Amanda and her bridesmaids got ready. It was such a beautiful location to shoot bride preps because everyone was in the same room talking and laughing. People were continually walking in and out of the salon giving it that city vibe, full of energy and excitement. As the bridal party finished up, I rolled out to get shots of the city. I had so much fun exploring downtown and finding iconic places to film like in front of the South Carolina state house!

Some of our favorite parts of wedding days are the ceremony and first look. The first look is when the reality of the wedding day sets in and last sweet words are exchanged before meeting at the alter! Matt & Amanda’s first look took place under Columbia’s iconic Gervais Street Bridge. It was such a sweet, private escape from the busy downtown. You can can hear a little clip in the film where Amanda asks, “Are you ready?” and Matt says, “Let’s do this!” 🙂

The ceremony was backed by a serene landscape of trees painted orange by the light of the setting sun. It’s such a cool feeling to get to be apart of the day when two people become one! Matt & Amanda, it was such an honor to get to be there to tell your story! We’re praying for you guys as you start this new journey as husband and wife. Thank you for trusting us to tell your story!
