After meeting Jared & Lauren for the first time via video chat we learned they are also fellow creatives! It is so fun to work with a couple who understands and deeply appreciates the creative process. They had touches of their creativity, personality and design work all throughout their wedding. They even designed their wedding logo and seating chart! It was super impressive.
the cotton room
Their day took place at The Cotton Room in downtown Raleigh/Durham, NC. For all you history buffs out there, The Cotton Room was originally a textile factory which primarily produced…you guessed it…cotton products. We love when historic buildings are revitalized as wedding venues. They radiate a unique charm that can’t be replicated with new construction.
Jared & Lauren had their first touch in the old mill tower. The room was completely surrounded by large windows and exposed brick walls. If you looked up you’d see the ceiling reaching to about 30 feet with wood beams crossing every which way. Perfectly placed in the corner of the quaint space was a mocha colored, leather chair where Jared sat to read his love letter from his soon-to-be bride. The light flooded every inch of this space and could not have made it more dreamy. It was one of those moments that felt like it was straight out of a movie.
ceremony & reception
The ceremony was nothing less than perfect. Jared & Lauren wrote their own vows to each other which is always a beautiful touch to a sacred moment. They concluded their vows by saying, “I choose to love you today and every day for eternity.”
Having the ceremony and reception in the same space made the whole day feel so intimate. The reception space was gorgeous with every little detail thought of and accounted for. It was evident how much family means to each of them. Person after person stood up to celebrate their lives becoming one. With the dance floor being the center of the room it was only natural that everyone congregated there after dinner to start the party. Jared & Lauren celebrated the night away. Sparklers lit up the night sky as friends and family sent them off with shouts and cheers! It was the perfect end to such a beautiful day.
